Defiance

I don't see the shining bright sun There's just a big black cloud No daisies are blooming to stun No lilies are singing out loud The petunias have a sad low face The leaves are a dark dense shroud The roses have lost their grace The bunnies are huddled in a crowd The kittens have retreated to a ditch Despair is staring at it wowed In the face of all this with no hitch Defiance is standing still proud

Darkness

Darkness is intoxicating, it's like gravity Defined and designed by deep dexterity A draught that devours the very concept of clarity I wonder why it calls to me with such familiarity Hurtling and tumbling towards the singularity Deep is the well of despair and hilarity Busting all hopes with merciless brutality Demons dementing with determined solidarity Despite the despondence of self and society Despair not in the Doings of the Deity His decisions for you will lead to auriety Nothing goes amiss in His presiety (c) Abdullah Bin Khurram 2018

Poem: Beauty of the Dark

Have you ever seen the beauty of the dark Walking a stray path in an open park No noise from a car or crow or lark Startled only by the occasional loud bark The world is still to every lepton n quark The hustle of the day is a contrast stark The blackness punctuated by a lonely spark The light bug's domain and it's signature mark Your face is soothed by the southbound breeze There is a rustle in the bushes and trees Your heart and limbs for a moment freeze Don't shut your eyes even for a sneeze The bugs are singing a continuous chorus Lamenting the demise of the shining horus The sky is a big curtain, dark but porous Faraway celebratory fireworks effloresce Among the stars is a moving satellite Mars is bright with shining hematite Meteors plight jumping around impolite Darkness and light overnight reunite The sky is still full of surprises From the horizon a half slice rises Devouring the darkness as the horizon demises Dulled and blurred by polluting
